Songs of Solomon 2:1 I am the rose of Sharon,

And the lily of the valleys

Haven’t you ever wondered what the Rose of Sharon looks like? A flower used to describe the Shulamite woman, King Solomon’s love, then later used to describe Jesus. Must be splendid surely. Well I googled and found out that Sharon is fertile plain found at that coast of Isreal and that the Rose of Sharon is actually a late bloomer tree with brilliant pink blossoms. Some say there’s no particular flower called the Rose of Sharon, infact, the most beautiful flower in any nation is called the Rose of Sharon.

So my lovely brides what’s your Rose of Sharon?

Many brides, atleast in Uganda, are not too particular about the type of flower they have in their floral arrangements. More attention is put on the color and maybe the arrangement when it comes to decor. Again not much attention is put on pairing the gown to the bridal bouquet.

Let’s look at the different bouquet styles and how best we can pair them to the silhouette of the gown. Today we will start with

*The Cascading bouquet*.

This is the waterfall type bouquet. It starts out larger at the top and drapes or flows down to a smaller size. Orchids and vines for some greenery are perfect for this because they already have that natural curve or drape to them. You can add other flowers as long as you have one that drapes to create that look. This bouquet is perfect for a mermaid/trumpet style gown. You can pair it with a ball gown by giving it a bit more volume at the top.

If your gown has intricate embellishments, let your bouquet have demure colors and if it’s simple, dont be afraid to go with brilliant bold colors.
